Privacy Policy
Effective November 1, 2026. This policy describes the current Our Trip Tab service at ourtriptab.com. The service is operated by Jed Sims. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to support@ourtriptab.com.
Information you enter
The app handles trip titles, household names, adult and child counts, nights stayed, expenses, payers, split selections and currency. You may optionally enter household contact names, email addresses, phone numbers, payment links and message notes. Use contact details only with appropriate permission. Child counts do not require children’s names or dates of birth.
Guest plans and browser storage
Guest plans are saved using local storage in the browser where you use the calculator. Clearing browser data or starting fresh can remove that browser copy. Exported backup files are under your control. A guest plan is sent to the app’s database when you sign in and choose to save it to your account.
Optional sign-in and saved trips
ChatGPT sign-in provides a site-specific account identifier, an email address and, when available, a display name. The app uses the identifier to associate saved trips and payment requests with your account and uses your display name or email to identify your signed-in session. The app does not receive your ChatGPT password.
Saved trip records include the plan, ownership identifier, archive status, version and update time. Payment-request records include the trip association, household identifiers, recipient, currency, requested cost breakdown, payment links, note, status and creation time. Archived trips remain stored; archiving is not deletion. Saved records currently have no automatic expiry. Contact us to request access, correction or deletion; we may verify ownership before acting.
Shared links
A trip snapshot link contains encoded plan information in its URL fragment. Anyone with the link can read that snapshot. Newly generated snapshot links omit the optional household contact fields and stored payment-link preferences, but household names, costs and expense descriptions remain part of the snapshot. Encoding does not encrypt the information. Copies already shared or exported are not removed by changing your browser plan.
A household payment-request page is accessible to anyone with its unique link, without sign-in. It shows that household’s label, trip title, requested costs, recipient label, payment links, note and request status. It does not display household contact fields. Cancelling an unpaid request disables its payment options. Cancellation does not reverse a payment already made or delete the underlying record.
Messages and payments
Prepare text and Prepare email open a draft in your device’s selected app. You review and send the message. Copy message puts the prepared text on your clipboard. These features do not automatically send messages from Our Trip Tab.
Payments take place on PayPal, Venmo or Cash App when you choose the relevant link. Those providers apply their own terms and privacy practices and may receive account details, transaction information and technical information when you use their services. Our Trip Tab does not collect card numbers, bank credentials or payment-provider passwords, and does not process or automatically verify transfers. The organizer manually confirms receipt.
Hosting, security and support
The site uses OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare infrastructure for delivery, authentication support and storage. These services may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, request timestamps and security-related cookies to deliver and protect the service. Their handling of service data is also governed by their applicable privacy policies. See OpenAI’s Privacy Policy and Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.
If you email support, your email address, message and attachments are processed through Cloudflare Email Routing and the operator’s email service to answer your request. Avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information.
Advertising and analytics
Our public guide articles load Google AdSense to support this free service. Ad availability depends on Google approval and demand. The trip calculator, saved-trip interface and household payment-request pages do not load our AdSense advertising script. We do not add third-party analytics scripts.
Google and its advertising partners may collect IP addresses, browser and device information and use cookies or similar technologies to deliver, personalize and measure advertisements based on visits to this and other websites. We do not send saved trip records or household contact details to Google for advertising. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
We use Google’s published European regulations consent message for eligible visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland. Visitors can consent, decline consent or manage options in that message. On guide articles, use the Privacy and cookie settings control to revisit available consent choices. If the message is unavailable, that control explains this rather than changing your preferences.
Manage Google ad personalization through My Ad Center. Other vendors’ personalized advertising choices are also available at AboutAds choices. Browser settings can block or clear cookies; these settings can affect site features. Advertising partners apply their own privacy policies.
Your choices
You can use the calculator without signing in, omit optional household contacts, clear your local plan, keep a backup, avoid sharing links, cancel unpaid requests and contact us about saved data. Turning off local storage can prevent browser saving. Contact us about privacy rights available to you under applicable law. We do not promise that clearing a local plan removes server-saved trips, exported backups or copies of shared links.
Children and changes
Our Trip Tab is intended for adult trip organizers and is not directed at children under 13. Do not enter sensitive information about children. This policy may change as the service changes; the effective date will be updated when revisions are published.
